At Zyvex, we continue to develop R&D programs and activities
to support leading academic institutions working on nanotechnology
initiatives critical to our nation’s economic development,
health, and safety.
Some of our academic partners include the , the (BSAC),
,
(CBEN),, the (CAMPmode) , , , and the
at .
Zyvex
is proud to be a sponsor of ™.
This educational outreach program, headed by Dr. James M.
Tour, Chao Professor of Chemistry at Rice University, is dedicated
to increasing public knowledge of the nanoscale world and
the emerging molecular research and technology that is rapidly
expanding internationally. Based on actual anthropomorphic
molecules synthesized in the laboratory, the NanoKids™
visual concept utilizes universally recognized forms exhibiting
human characteristics to instruct, motivate, and entertain.
Zyvex
is also proud to be a partner of (ISN) oin
May 2004. ISN is an interdepartmental research center at MIT.
Established in 2002 by a five-year, $50 million contract from
the U.S. Army, the ISN’s research mission is to use
nanotechnology to dramatically improve the survival of soldiers.
The ultimate goal is to create a 21st century battlesuit that
combines high-tech capabilities with light weight and comfort.
Imagine
a bullet-proof jumpsuit, no thicker than ordinary spandex,
that monitors health, eases injuries, communicates automatically,
and maybe even lends superhuman abilities. It’s a long-range
vision for how technology can make soldiers less vulnerable
to enemy and environmental threats. More background information
is available on the ISN’s web
site.
Another
of Zyvex’s academic partnerships is with the and the .
This partnership enables commercialization in the nanoscale
field as well as academic research. Under the agreement, Zyvex
will outsource testing services to , an organization within CAAN,
using Zyvex’s KZ100 integrated nanomanipulator system.
The Zyvex sProber characterizes semiconductor components as
well as bulk and nanoscale materials down to 1 pA DC.
