Are you at the top of your class and totally
into nanotechnology? Do you want to gain real-world experience
in this cutting-edge industry? How would you like having the
first molecular nanotechnology company listed on your resume
when you graduate?
Zyvex has several intern/co-op positions open each semester
in a variety of groups, including Research and Product Development.
We have interns working on marketing, mechanical engineering,
physics, and programming projects. Our interns come from universities
all over North America and are of all nationalities. We have
a mix of undergraduate and graduate level students here, too.
The main thing that sets our internships apart from most other
companies is what you, the intern, get to do. We won’t
stick you in a corner filing papers. Our interns design MEMS
components, receive MEMS parts from the foundry, test them,
and report to the team how the designs are working. You perform
real-world product research and analysis. Your programming
contributes to our software packages. As a bonus, at the end
of your term, you’ll give a presentation to the entire
company showing off the work you did!
Here’s what some of our previous interns have said about
their Zyvex experience:
“The year I spent at Zyvex was the most important
stage of my undergraduate education. I was treated with
an extraordinary amount of respect, I was paid handsomely,
and I formed deep friendships with my coworkers. Zyvex offered
me many unique opportunities and I never took them for granted.”
André Mercanzini, University
of Toronto
“Working at Zyvex has been a dream of
mine since high school. The opportunity to contribute towards
the future of MNT was a constant goal for me throughout
my undergraduate years. The reality of my job now, my co-workers,
and my exposure to a myriad of interdisciplinary projects
is more than I had dreamed, and is a huge step towards achieving
that goal.”
Adam Hartman, Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology
“Zyvex offered me the opportunity to
learn, grow, create and be part of the action. It’s
where I realized I shouldn’t let my major confine
me, where I could challenge the rules imagining and creating
a world that never was. Zyvex is where people with lots
of initiative and talent helped me hone my technical skills
as I worked with leading edge technologies.”
Corina Nistorica, University of Alabama
“It’s not about self-replicating
nano-bricks! It’s about the future of humanity!”
Peter Overland, Harvard University
“I started as software intern in Top-Down
Group at Zyvex in January 2002. All through my work-term,
I thoroughly enjoyed working in the field of Topology
Optimization of MEMS devices. I was looking for an intern
position where I could apply my analytical and computational
design skills that I had learnt in school with much independence
— Zyvex gave me just that. I could not have hoped
for a better place to start, given that this was my very
first work term.”
Manish Sharma, University of Michigan
As you can tell, Zyvex offers a lot in the
way of on-the-job experience. We also offer you a few extras
while you’re here, such as eligibility in our 401K
program, participation in our internal educational seminar
program, a fun, laid-back culture, and a host of other things.
Basically, Zyvex is a pretty cool place to work AND learn.
